Business cards continue to serve as a timeless tool for business and networking. But the manual task of contact data entry can be easy to put off, hampering proper follow-up and lead opportunities. Sometimes they’re even misplaced, washed in the laundry, or lost. Sales professionals have always wanted a better way to capture key information from business cards to allow them to focus on more important tasks and pursuits.
With the recent Dynamics 365 Sales update, business cards can now be scanned into the system via mobile phone camera interface or the web from a card image. The scanner analyzes the card for relevant contact information and automatically updates respective lead or contact fields in the system. The feature offers configuration, allowing users to choose and map alternative fields to populate record fields. It can also be configured to retain the business card image with the CRM lead or contact record if desired. The capability to scan business cards is particularly useful when at events or at offsite client meetings. It’s a useful new tool that adds value and smarter data to your Dynamics investment.
